Consuming Fire

Bible Verse NLT

To the Israelites at the foot of the mountain, the glory of the Lord appeared at the summit like a Consuming Fire.

Exodus 24:17

Concept

When I was born, my mother had two names she was prepared to name me, but she ultimately chose the latter and named me Tiffany. The name Tiffany means the appearance or manifestation of God. It is the anglicized form of Theophania, a combination of the Greek words “theos,” meaning “God,” and “phainein,” meaning “to appear.” Ironically, I consistently yearned to see a manifestation of God, even before I knew what my name meant. The word theophany is when someone believes that she has seen a true vision of God, an experience that many people hope for but few will achieve. The Bible sites various theophanies, specifically the theophany at the foot of Mount Sinai with the Israelites. The Lord appeared as a consuming or devouring fire; God manifested in the physical form for all to see.

Similarly, during my deliverance, as the Apostle touched my head and said aloud, “Fire,” there began to be a shift in the atmosphere. As the “tongues of fire” began to flow from my mouth, I felt a release that brought me to my knees, weeping and praising God. At that moment, I knew the manifestation of God I had so desperately longed for was within me, and the Consuming Fire delivered me from the clutches of the adversary. This display of grace was a physical manifestation of God for all the church to see. I feel blessed that the Lord Almighty answered my prayers to show Himself physically through me.

Bible Verse KJV

And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

Exodus 24:17

Dear Lord God Almighty,

Thank you for granting me the grace and opportunity to show others that you are who you say you are. To show others that you will give grace when grace is due to all believers, especially those who don’t deserve it. I am but a sinner, but with Your guidance, love, mercy, grace, and wisdom, I will become more like You and vow to walk in my purpose and Your Will until we meet again. Thank you for showing up, as always, right on time.

In Jesus Name,

Amen and Amen
